Template: Helix Ultimate 2.0.5 (Bootstrap 5) (very popular framework )

All Phoca Cart modules are not working correctly. Since the framework is very popular, please pay attention and, if possible, make adjustments to the functionality.

Hi, which version of Phoca Cart do you use? Since version 4, it is ready for Helix and Bootstrap 5:

Very cool!!!

Unfortunately, I am using Joomla 3 .10, as two plugins prevent me from upgrading to version 4:

  1. https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/bk-multithumb/ - A very good and useful plugin for converting images to previews. Withdrawn from support, I can not find replacements :(
  2. Phoca GuestBook - you can be patient, not urgent, but we are waiting :)

Small clarification: Joomshaper has two free working HELIX frameworks

It is advisable in adminpanel to clarify which one your template engine supports!

Hi, it is the new one used in Joomla 4, so Helix Ultimate. I think, Helix 3 does not run on Joomla 4, or?

It didn’t work before, but it has already been updated and now it has also become universal: https://www.joomshaper.com/blog/helix3-v3-0

They are very good, lightweight and flexible frameworks. Your close cooperation with this company would be great! :)

Since the upgrade to Joomla 4 may take a long time, it would be nice to add support for these templates to the Phoca Cart version 3.5.9+. If it is not difficult and does not take a lot of time for backward compatibility connections. This makes it easier to update the site: first the template, then the core.

Hi, version 3.5.8 and 4.0.0 are completely different extensions (because of Joomla 4 backward compatibility issues), so it is very hard because of time issues to add such or similar feature to obsolete versions. Phoca Cart 4 is marked still as Beta but in fact it is in stable condition https://www.phoca.cz/phocacart4demo/ ... I have now over 400 urgent tasks regarding Phoca extensions and Joomla 4, so each minute is worth. Just imagine, all of the Phoca extensions which are now in Beta, are ready for stable on my tests servers but because of time issues, it will take some time to release them as stable. Of course if someone will be able to prepare Phoca Cart 3.5.8 for Bootstrap 5, I will of course include it. But I think, there will be nobody, because Joomla 3 output is BOOTSTRAP 2 and having BOOTSTRAP 5 on Joomla BOOTSTRAP 2 is in fact irrational. This is why users just move to Joomla 4, because Joomla 4 supports BOOTSTRAP 5. So if you want to run BOOTSTRAP 5, I will recommend you to use Joomla 4 (because of many many reasons, one of them is the conflict between Joomla 3 BS2 and BS5 of extensions)

So my recommandation:

If you want to use Helix and Bootstrap 5, don't use Joomla 3 which internaly uses Bootstrap 2 and which is not ready for BS5 in case.

Try to switch to Joomla 4 and Phoca Cart 4 and Helix Bootstrap 5 on your test server and if there will be some problem, just report it. I for now have active development on Joomla 4 so this means, the problems can be solved immediately.

As developers we have been waiting a long time for Joomla 4 and Bootstrap 5 to finally stop the design conflicts between extensions and the system itself. A unified version of Bootstrap 5 is a win and as I have written many times. Use Joomla 4. It is modern and ready. I don't understand why to use the latest Helix and the latest Bootstrap on the old Joomla 3.

I stopped using Joomla4 for the following reasons:

If I had communicated with you right away, I might have made a different decision :) Thanks for the detailed clarification!

PS: plugin "BK-multithumb" very useful! Since it is abandoned, and most likely will not be released under joomlu4, I recommend that you take it to your collection and fork it! The Joomla community will be grateful to you, as its use is possible on every site! Unfortunately, I am a designer, not a programmer, and I cannot help you with this :( If you need help from a designer - contact us! Thank you very much for your work, I don't distract you anymore!

Unfortunately, as written above:

The only problem for me is the time. :-(

Yes, unfortunately a lot of developers abandoned their extensions because of unnecessary backward compatibility changes in Joomla 4.

Phoca Guestbook - the overwriting process is now cca 70% so I hope, I will release Beta soon.

Those transitions (J3 to J4) are always the worst time period - the developers just rewrite and have no time for anything, a lot of extensions will disappear, but unfortunately it can't be otherwise.
