Layer support #78

Eventually we need to support layers. This is a major change and should be implemented with care.

@orion777 - Hi there, Not yet. We have a new release only just out now. The features you are looking for like Layer support are really big and will break everything until everything is made to work again.

Hopefully that makes sense to you. If not, all I can say is to wait a while. Layer support is planned for v2.0 which will contain all those features you are interested in.

Hello What news with last release of Photoflare? Any version is planned for Linuxmint 18.3 ? Regards

@orion777 - Hi there, well at first we were going to drop Ubuntu 16.04 support. (Mint 18) since both Ubuntu 18.04 and Mint 19 will be out soon.

Will you be upgrading to Mint 19 once its released?

Hello No we won't upgrade to Mint 19 now. I am computer technician for middle schools there and once the operating sytems are well configured and stable in our environment then we don't change for users. So as Mint 18 is LTS release then no changes for this time. I planned to install only photoflare for students and remove other software like photofiltre, but there were some troubles like i mentionned some time ago. So waiting for upgrade photoflare release. Thanks you for your help .

Please where can i find last notes releases with the new version to see the news additions and details with the last version? Regards

@orion777 - Hi there, the last release was pretty small but you can find information on the changes on all the releases here: https://github.com/PhotoFlare/photoflare/releases

or just for v1.5.3: https://github.com/PhotoFlare/photoflare/releases/tag/v1.5.3

I only do a blog post for the bigger changes.

Hello Any new with the layer support? Would be great to see this implemented on Photoflare.

@orion777 - This is the main feature being worked on right now. Its being very difficult so far but I have made some progress. I'm estimating maybe in March next year this might be complete.

@DylanC Anything yet about layers support? This is really my one only blockade from switching to PhotoFlare, unless it's already implemented and I hadn't seen it.
