Exporting MAX example file crashes MAX

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load the sample file
2. Export
3. Enjoy the crash

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- Outputs a zero Kb file

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
- MAX 2012 on Win7/64bit
