Real time map #46

On my HTC Touch Pro the Map takes 8-12 seconds to update - if parts of the
map are loaded from the web during this time, it even leaves some empty
space in the recorded track. So while this programm is great for hiking and
tracking, it's not possible to use it for navigation with your bike or car
- you never know where on the map you are right now. I love OpenStreetMap
and this programm, so I would love to use it as navigation device aswell -
so is it possible to increase the map updating to once per second?

I download the map of interest with my PC and store it locally on the storage
card of
the phone, so I need no costly GPRS data connection and the map is available at
once.
You can use for example "JTileDownloader" or "PDATileManager" to do this (see
Readme.htm). If the map is downloaded once GCC uses this map from this point on,
instead downloading it from internet.
