Seems to be an Issue with data in the user.config file. Attached is the file as
posted by Raptor_Jesus (OCN).

This has happened to me too. I'm a folder at Maximum PC. I tried the solution
in
the OCN thread by Raptor_Jesus, but that did not work for me.

Can I get a little more detailed information? More along the lines of what was
provided by the Issue starter, DBPythonMaster.

in
the AppData folder, and reinstalled. it worked for me.

Ah... that's the ticket! I had already tried deleting registry entries and
deleting
all of AppData\Roaming\HFM. Howver, I was not aware of the Harlem357 folder in
AppData\Local. Once I deleted the subfolders in there with previous config
files,
it works perfectly. Please delete/ignore my issue 187, it is deprecated by
this
thread.

Marked Fixed for Revision 165.

Can't recover from this as nicely as I'd like. I am catching the exception and
removing the corrupted file and closing the application. The user will have to
restart HFM themselves.

I have just encountered this as well. Was working fine for a very long time.
The program was in my start up folder and I was overclocking my RAM. At one
point I kept getting crashes at boot up right after logging into Windows
(basically when the services and programs were being loaded). Finally put it
back to my known stable settings and then this happened.

The original was a zip download. I thought I only had that one folder to
delete but that did not work after a new extract. Then someone mentioned the
HFM file in appdata and so I deleted the extracted files and that folder but
that did not work either.

I then downloaded the installer one instead, tried it, doesn't work so I used
the uninstall via control panel and then re-installed. That didn't work.

Then I came across this issue thread and someone mentioned the harlam357 file.
Uninstalled program, deleted both the HFM and harlam357 folders in the appdata
folder and reinstalled. That got it to work again.
