I'm not sure if the examples are right here, in particular

java -jar JWPLDataMachine.jar spanish Índice de categorías Desambiguación 
~/eswiki/20080416/

shouldn't the "Índice de categorías" be quoted to indicate that it's the 
top-level category.

Also, how does one work out the proper top-level and category name in another 
language version.
I'm looking at the english versions of 
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Contents
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Disambiguation_pages

and then using the interwiki links but not sure if this works ever time? If so, 
maybe this could be added to the instructions on this page?

Thanks for the report. You are right, the spanish version should be quoted.
The language links from the English version of the top-level category page and 
disambiguation page should work all the time.
