So here it is!

I can imagine allowing you to pick > 1 layer in order to remove the set, but 
that is about all.  I.e. I'd disable the other options (zoom-to, view metadata, 
opacity).  Does that sound good?

For some reason, there must be some kind of bug to prevent a SHIFT-click from 
working the way you would expect it to work.  CTRL-click works fine, but SHIFT? 
 No.

It does work with CTRL-click for me in Firefox 6.

Charlton, could it be some of the accessibility changes that PeopleGIS has 
done?  Just a thought.  They define these in the /js/toolConfig_default.js  
Although looking at Josh Rosenthal's email where he explains what they've done 
(I just forwarded this to you) I don't think there is a conflict.)

CTRL-click also works for me in IE 9.

CNTL enables links to words in Wictionary in FF6.

Hold down CNTL and move mouse over any word embedded in MORIS, e.g. "Check all" 
or "Available data layers".  This overrides the descriptive text (e.g. "Turn 
all active layers on" for "Check all") and opens a window with an entry from 
Wictionary.

This is unexpected and should be disabled.

Dan, I have no idea what you're talking about!  If it's like the way skype 
changes phone #'s to skype-clicks, there is no way for me to override it from 
w/i javascript.  Or was this a peoplegis question?

Charlton, I think think this is for you.

Try the experiment in FF6.

I'd give you a screen capture but depressing the ALT key clears the popup 
window.  For real!  If you still doubt me I'll get someone with a camera phone 
to snap photo of the window.

I use FF6 here and don't see it.  Perhaps this is something that you've 
installed as an add-on?

Dan, I bet this is going to be something about *your system* and having some 
Wictionary toolbar installed or similar that is providing this service for you. 
 Does that sound familiar?  If so, disable or uninstall that... Because it 
doesn't happen for me in FF6.

Right on Charlton.  The old Google Dictionary add-on I had (and apparently 
never used and subsequently forgot about) is now Wictionary and Google 
Translate.  Call of the dogs!

But, where does the SHIFT key not working bug (comment 2 above) come from?  
Having CNTL but not SHIFT doesn't really save you any steps in the bigger 
picture.

I wish I knew the answer to that.  I posted a question to the geoext list since 
I believe that's where the bug lies.

Verified. Won't fix using the Shift key to select more than one layer since 
it's a geoext bug.
