How to get MP3 title in SEARCH result.... #49

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I have installed the MP3 browser, and it works fine.
2. I have enabled the default Search for my site, and the search text box
appears on top right of my site.
3. When I try to type the title of the MP3 in search text box and hit search
button, it did not find the MP3 in the search result.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using Joomla 3.

Please provide any additional information below.

Since I have hundreds of MP3s listed in many of the pages, I want the search
functionality to work, to find the right MP3 title/description.

Please help.

Thanks
Ashfaq.

Let us be clear about what you mean by "enabled the default Search". Only the
(newer) Smart Search is supported, use that. Maybe you were referring to that
anyway.

Make sure that the "Smart Search - mp3 Browser Fork" plugin is enabled (not
just the "Content - mp3 Browser Fork" plugin).

Make sure that the search plugin is enabled before you start adding {music}
tags to content. Otherwise: reindex the entire Smart Search.

I suppose this search only works for {music} tags in content/articles (not in
modules or components). Not sure if that's at all applicable for you.

Let me know if you have any other issues.

For my own peace of mind, I just confirmed that search is still working on my
site: http://www.totaalsoftware.com/products/all-products/4-mp3-browser

Dear Sanderverh,
thanks for your reply.

In the below link,
http://www.fahmeislam.com/new/index.php/speeches-2014
I have an audio speech containing text "A Thing Called Love".
So if search the site with "Love", i get the message as "No results found".
Please help me.

Ashfaq.

I agree with your observation that search does not work, and not sure what's up
with that.

Over here you can see that "MP3 files" should actually appear as "Search by
Type": http://www.veronicaanders.net/en/search (choose "Advanced Search").

Were you able to confirm my other remarks?

Dear Sanderverh,

Yes, I have done as per your remarks as below:

1. Enabled the "Smart Search - mp3 Browser Fork".
2. Re indexed the entire smart search.
3. I have added the {music} tag in articles only.

But still the mp3 titles are not searched.

Ashfaq.
