Moving the tiles left and right. Sometimes the tile moves two spaces for
one keystroke. The rotate key doesn't seem to have a similar problem.

First, try turning your horizontal speed to the lowest setting and see if
it continues. :-)
Windows or Linux? If Windows, also keep in mind nice little hiccups in
your system will prevent Quadra from running nice and smoothly, resulting
in pieces "jumping" several columns at once. Happens on my g/f's machine
all the time if other things are running. Make sure you have no other apps
running and try it again.
