Bug: Crash #49

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Submitted by Drake Wilson (premchai21):

I am using Quadra 1.1.6 on Win 98.

Sometimes, while I am using Quadra, it will hang, leaving the mouse
immobile. The standard Win 98 method of dehanging a computer (C-M-Del) does
not work here. I cannot switch to any other programs and end up hard
rebooting, which is unacceptable.

Is this a problem with Quadra or Windows? And, whether it is a Q or W
problem, what is causing this?

Comment by roncli:

I am running Windows Whistler Beta 2, with a self built
1.1.7 with a couple of patches, and have had no problems.
If you'd like, I can send you this version. E-mail me at
roncli@roncli.com.

Comment by roncli:

As an update to this, my sister has this problem with
version 1.1.5. I'll find out from her if version 1.1.7
resolves this for her.

Comment by roncli:

Had LDC run 1.1.7. Crashed twice on her. :-(

The most likely fix for this is a SDL version and/or an upgrade to XP/Vista for
users. Win98 isn't supported by Microsoft anymore so even building a version
that
runs there is a bit tricky (we still can, I think... not sure if SDL can
though).

Since this issue is old and rather vague, I'm inclined to simply close it.
