Window not responding #70

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Quadra-SDL r583, VS2008
Vista Business

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start a game in quadra in windowed mode
2. Minimize window, switch to another windows, eg. a browser and (re)load a
website, or perhaps doing something in any other window...
3. Switch back to quadra

=> Often at this point the quadra is not responding any more. The game is
going on (you can hear stones dropping), but the window takes no inputs and
isn't updated any more.
When you loose the game, it switches to the Highscore/Play again/back
screen and is responsible again.
When the game loss happens with the quadra window out of focus, you have to
kill quadra. I suppose it gets to the highscore screen, but the window
isn't updated when focus the window again, and with no response to input
you can't go back or play again, initiating a screen update...

What version of SDL was this with? Built it yourself, or from their binaries?
What
happens if you just close the window? We changed a few things in the last five
days,
do you still have this problem? I presume this is 100% reproductible?

Stéphane, could you take a look? You're the only one of us nuts enough to run
Vista,
sorry... ;-)

I am using the precompiled dll from libsdl.org, v1.2.13.
I can't reproduce this bug with r612, i'll go through r584 - r612 to find the
fix.

That was me (comment 2), sorry. My girlfriend didn't log out...

I can't reproduce the bug at 100% with r583, damn. Perhaps its just something
with my
computer or drivers (had some problems with nvidia lately).

Weird. Chalk it up to general Vista wonkiness?

Vista has a wide back, as we say in French (you can put a lot of blame on it!).
