"mark above as read" no longer works #175

in the article view, i use the "mark articles above read" to quickly process a 
bunch of articles that i had scanned already.  after upgrading to 1.52, it no 
longer works.  i try it and nothing happens.

this works again in 1.53, so feel free to close (I don't have permission to do 
so)
