Image processing does not work in 0.9.1

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.
I installed 0.9.1 yesterday with your installation docs.

2.
Wiki article is:

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

With all output settings (book, not processing templates, etc.)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

 Produkt    Version
 MediaWiki  1.13.0
 PHP    5.2.6-5 (apache2handler)
 MySQL  5.0.51a-3

on a current (testing) Debian server. 

Please provide any additional information below.

It seems that image processing does not work !
1. the \textbackslash is replaced by extbackslah
2. I'm not sure if the latex output is correct too.

What can be wrong ???

Looks like there is a problem regarding masking characters. Shouldn't be too 
hard to fix.
