I'm staging a few updates in the debian-12 branch, and I think we should just retired pirogue-base-pc as a separate package.
To make it easier on users having installed it, we could probably introduce an extra binary package in the pirogue-base source package, for Debian 12, and retire it in Debian 13 (transitional package).
And even if we want to keep a separate binary package forever, we should probably have all binaries built from the same source package (i.e. pirogue-base) to ease further updates anyway.
