Broken on volumio 2.502 #16

Open adipose opened 5 years ago

adipose commented 5 years ago

See https://github.com/volumio/Volumio2/issues/1663

After updating to 2.502, volumio no longer will start. It requires manual npm commands to fix the install. This is using the justboom player image.

However, when updating stock volumio to 2.502, the service starts fine. Something in the justboom image seems to conflict with 2.502.

All my justbooms (I have 3) became inaccessible after updating.

@adipose have you notified volumio?

adipose commented 5 years ago

Well, no, because as I said, the volumio image doesn't have this issue--only the justboom distributed volumio image.

shawaj commented 5 years ago

Probably still worth letting them know

Can you post an updated Justplayer distro using the latest version of Volumio 2.777. Your distro will not update becuase Volumio won't update if there are any user changes?? There is no way around this?? There has to be a better way?

ChristopherRush commented 4 years ago

I'll take a look at this on Monday. Will keep you updated.

@ctbarker32 Updated JustBoom Player to 2.779 file is here https://drive.google.com/open?id=1VQiAoHq-NgM98jlKtzZSfj1Phb1m2ivU

For the time being I have disabled updates until I can find a solution to the issue that causes it to break.

Thank you for looking into this. I have a bigger problem now. I was able to get this working with your distro and an updated Moode distro. PicorePlayer just released an update that supports the new kernel and Merus Amp. But, both of my Merus boards appear to be broken in some way? I can no longer get any audio out of them using either Squeezelite or Shairport via Roon? I have emailed Infineon about a possible replacement but they are slow to respond. How does one get an RMA to get replacement boards? I have heard of one other use that has a bad Merus Amp. Not sure what is going on?

@ctbarker32 Does the Merus AMP work in Raspbian? Thats always the test for me when it doesn't work with other OS systems. There is an overlay for it so it should work unless there is an underlying hardware issue dtoverlay=merus-amp

ctbarker32 commented 4 years ago

I haven't tested with Raspian. I will try to test.
