Smart Remote OK button not working in Max2Play Kodi

I have tried the smart remote fix but the button doesn't register. evtest /dev/input/event2 reports the following:

Event: time 1589468249.376502, -------------- SYN_REPORT ------------

Event: time 1589468249.456497, type 1 (EV_KEY), code 353 (KEY_SELECT), value 0

70-local-keyboard.hwdb includes:

evdev:input:b0003v2252p0120*
 KEYBOARD_KEY_c0041=enter
 KEYBOARD_KEY_c0040=c

Kodi logfile reports:
