A while ago I wrote a simple script to produce text bitmaps based on the Mullard SAA5050 character set and render images containing text.
It's pretty basic but the low-res, binary bitmaps allow quite compact text output and are perfect for the Papirus screen I think. See image on the readme on this repo:

What do people think? Could this be developed into a useful module for displaying text on the Papirus?
