Hi,

I have one (!) website which uses porcupine wake word detection. Now I ran out of users, so it shows 3/3. And I got error message on a mobile device when accesing my website, it shows: "Error creating Porcupine worker: PorcupineActivationLimitReachedError: Initialization failed:" How are you counting you the users? Can really only 3 people use my website now? I thought you count users as "things" and I understood 1 thing for example is one website (but can have in theory millions of visitors using this wakeword detection.

Please help me to understand this, thanks a lot !

Short answer, your domain is not the user and there can be more or fewer than 3 people benefit from the Picovoice tech.

Picovoice tracks “things” that activate its engines, not individuals or their credentials. Given the number of platforms Picovoice supports and the variety of options that developers have there is no simple answer, as it depends on design and tech stack.

Picovoice engines process data within web browsers. For example, each browser even on the same machine acts as a new user. 1 person can use Chrome, Safari, and Firefox, which will be shown as 3 users. 3 people can use the same web app, from the same browser on the same device and it can be tracked as 1 user.

The Free Plan allows prospects to try the engines and see how they work, including tracking. The real-time usage info is available on the Picovoice Console.
