Hi, the option to enable subtitles is provided through the web interface, no? see screnshot
@PierfrancescoSoffritti Yes true my friend and as you know in Youtube PC> Settings > Playback and Performance > Include auto-generated captions (when available) should be enabled too . I am wondering if we could have this new Lovely Native Youtube Feature with this (yours) Java lovely Library? (android-youtube-player. Please let me know if you have any more concern. Thanks in advance, Kindest and Warm Regards, Sincerely and Respect. Pooya M.
I am not sure I understand what you're asking, as shown in the screenshot the feature is already available in the library.
HI @PierfrancescoSoffritti My first language is Persian, and my second language is English. I've developed IPTV applications for Google TV 4K (Chromecast) that also use the library for playing YouTube videos and playlists, specifically for my parents' use. If it's already available in the library, could you kindly point me to the Readme or a Java sample that demonstrates how it works with the library? Ideally, I'd like to see a Java sample that utilizes the library. This would be very helpful for me to develop my app that adds Persian language subtitles. Thank you very much in advance. Thanks in advance, Sincerely, Pooya M
What you are asking is not related to the library, it's related to the IFrame player. As long as the YouTube video has subtitles, they should be available to select from the web ui. See above screenshot.
@PierfrancescoSoffritti I knew it man even before you mention it, The point that you and other don't consider is that IFrame player Android API has been deprecated and I have report this to Youtube And Yourself In the past, please see following link in The Youtube API Documention, and you are welcome to assist Other Developers , there is no obligation to you to help everyone! Thanks! Bye for now! https://developers.google.com/youtube/android/player
Feature Request: Subtitle Support
I'd like to propose a new feature for the android-youtube-player library: subtitle support.
Similar to the recent update on the Youtube native app, allowing users to enable subtitles in various languages would be a valuable addition with some Youtube Settings customizations. In my case, being bilingual in Farsi (my first language) and English (my second language), having access to Farsi subtitles would significantly enhance my experience.
The Youtube native app now offers the ability to customize settings and enable subtitles in multiple languages, including Farsi. Integrating similar functionality into this library would bring it on par with the Youtube app's capabilities.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Kindest and Warm Regards, Sincerely and Respectfully, Pooya M Pooya Mohammadhossein
