Hi Michele, greetings from Mexico.

Is there a way to create a completely offline layout and tournament, or a full version of the mini4wd chrono so as not to depend of the Online editors ???

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

there is no way currently. You can create the track layout beforehand, take note of the length and lane changers, and input those manually in the program, but unfortunately no way to do that for the tournament yet. You can still use the program as a simple lap timer if you don't set the tournament (just the track is required)

Did you build the lap timer yourself? That's nice! Can you send some pics to support@pimentoso.com? Do you like the program? Do you have some suggestions?

Cheers from italy.

Also I was thinking about moving the tournament generator into the program in the future, that will be a required change if I want to support multiple rule sets (like direct elimination tournaments), but I'm still in the planning stage. What kind of tournament do you guys run in mexico?

Hi Michele

At this time due to the health emergency, in Mexico the organization of races stopped and this was just when the number of Mini-4wd fans is growing, so we really have not yet put into practice the tournaments, but I am looking for learn as much as possible to put it into practice as soon as possible and have the necessary tools for a better experience.

That is why I found your developments and I really liked them, I think it would be much better than everything offline, track editor, tournament and chrono.

Will there be the possibility of also being able to obtain the source code of the Track editor and tournament editor ????

Thank you very much for the quick response and interest in the topic Michele.

Regards.

Hi from New Zealand.

We run knockout style events. 2 cars race, the winner goes through to the next round. We have 3 lane track. Lanes are allocated by draw.

We want to use the chrono for tuning and pre-race testing. It's a fantastic way of confirming that the changes we've made to the car are resulting in shorter lap times. In this case there could be 1, 2 or 3 cars running at the same time. It would be best if the timer started when the car first crossed the line.

thanks

Mark

@Snyperdead there are no current plans to release the source code of the track editor. But I'll work on integrating the tournament generator into mini4wdChrono soon, so stay tuned. Is internet connection your problem? In the warehouse we use to race, we just connect the computer to a cell phone hotspot during the setup of the race, then no internet connection is required during the actual race.

@markinNZ in the race setup, at the bottom, there's "time attack mode" which starts each car indipendently when it crosses the line, or "final mode" which starts the time for all the cars when the countdown ends.

Hello Michele, thanks for the answer's

the lap timer it's in development and construction process, as soon as I have more progress I can gladly share photos with you.

so far I really like what you are doing with this program,

Suggestions I could have many, but I know it is hard work developing software freely and everyone wants you to do the work for them without cooperating even if it's a bit, that in my opinion is not the best way, it helps, but it is not The best way.

I am trying to develop a more customizable solution for the regular hobie runners, my knowledge is few but I am obtaining inspiration and ideas from talented people like you, to reach a better understanding and development of the solution, since I am self-taught for almost everything. XD

O.k

O.k I understand, they are solutions that have already crossed my mind, but I prefer to ask maybe I am giving too much thought to something that already has a solution and by not asking it complicates everything.

In the warehouse where we started running the Cellular signal is very bad, as to use a cell phones like a hot spot.

my idea is to create a local wireless network, only for the system and at the same time you can get more information from the users for a better experience.

I really appreciate your interest in this topic and if I can support you in any way, let me know.

@Snyperdead my next planned upgrade would be to allow racing teams to register on a website, and have an option on the Mini4wdChrono software to allow automatic upload of player times of a race. So players can go to the website and see the race times using their cell phones (instead of asking the race organizer everytime). But that also requires an internet connection :(
