Glossary references vs redirect link. #9

Open Pinran-J opened 1 year ago

Description:

Glossary provided to allow for users to check their understandings of certain words.

Bug found:

Confusing references to glossary or redirects. There is no distinction if the clickable hyperlink is to the glossary or to a website.

Suggestion: Maybe provide a different notation, eg a subscript/superscript for words that appear in glossary.

Screenshots:

No distinction between clickable here and Java glossary, unsure if Java brings to java website or glossary.

Team's Response

The links are meant to provide convenience for users to access the important links. Clicking on the words such as Java brings the user to the glossary to explain what the terms mean. In the case of "here", it is obvious that it is a link that directs to the website to download the latest JAR file. Hence, it can easily inferred in the context of the sentences where the links are directed to. Furthermore, there is only one link in the entire document ("here") that links to another website.
