I reached out to Cognito Forms and they commented for now they don't have a public API.
Hi
At this time we do not have a Public API though this is something we would like to implement in the future.
Currently though it is possible to use one of our Data Integrations, Zapier, Microsoft Power Automate (formerly Flow), or JSON webhooks, to automate sending submission data to other services. For more information on these options please have a look at our help topic found here: https://www.cognitoforms.com/support/4/data-integration
Please let me know if you have any other questions or if I can help with anything else! Ryan Cognito Forms

Thanks, Sergio. I just sent a request as well.
Just got linked here from a reply to a welcome to Pipedream email asking what was missing, which I replied to and included Cognito Forms. So I'm guessing this issue was raised on my behalf! I have been using Cognito Forms with Integromat for quite a while and can confirm that while their API isn't public it is comprehensive and includes webhook management as well as form entry create/update/delete endpoints plus document download. Note: their webhooks can be manually configured through their GUI. Given they have integrations with Integromat(Make), MS and Zapier, I'm assuming that if an "integration company" approached them they would add them (my guess is they have a functioning private API). I'm guessing this is a problem with Pipedream given the open source nature of the apps which I'm also guessing means a public API is required? Does Pipedream have a mechanism for bringing on a private API like Cognito Forms', as has clearly happened for Integromat, MS and Zapier? I'm a fan of Cognito Forms because they have a feature called a Lookup field which allows you to use the entries in one form as the source for an answer list in another form. This means you effectively have a DB lookup for answers, e.g. how much stock you have. This relies on the form entry update endpoint, in order to dynamically update the source data, otherwise it's a manual update through the GUI (not a fan). It would be great to be able to update using Pipedream as I would like to move away from Integromat ASAP! Apologies if this is the wrong place for this, but I'm new to Pipedream. They also do a good job at most of the other things you'd want from a form service (conditional logic, calculations, hidden fields, saved partial submissions, pre-fill, embedded, analytics, submission edits, multiple notifications, etc).
That all make sense -- thank you for the background and context! And yes we raised this ticket on your behalf 😄
Re: facilitating an integration, I came to the same conclusion you did -- they seem to have a private API, but have not exposed it to the public, so I sent a request to them to see if we can access on behalf of you and other mutual users. If you have a contact there that you can put us in touch with that might be helpful to unblock the integration!
@dannyroosevelt sorry I don't have contact there. I am a paying customer there, so I can make a support request if that helps? Please let me know if you have a template for that message, or what contact details I could provide beyond pipedream.com, or anything else that might make establishing a relationship between you easier? Thanks.
Thanks, yes -- a request coming from you saying that you'd like to see an integration with Pipedream will likely carry more weight than one coming from us 😄
You can let them know Pipedream is an integration platform for developers, with more than 700 integrated apps and 300k users. We have other similar integrations:
And feel free to put them in touch with me directly (danny@pipedream.com
) or our Integrations Team (integrations@pipedream.com
).
OK submitted.

@alecwills FYI I'm still talking with Cognito, but here was their initial response:
We currently don't have a published API and have built our own integrations with our integration partners in the past. We are not, at this moment, looking to add new integration, but I know we will in the future.
@dannyroosevelt Yes I had a response on the 4th June from their helpdesk saying
have marked this to discuss with our leadership team at our next meeting on how to proceed

I encourage you to push them to prioritize either letting Pipedream access their API or having them prioritize the work. User requests carry the most weight!

Yes I replied with a suggestion that given they have integrated with some others already, then doing so with Pipedream should be very straightforward. And given many of their competitors already have done so, I suggested they might like to prioritise!
Requested access one more time via contact form, copied integrations at pd
I reached out again and they are not going through new partnerships:
Hi, Thank you for contacting us today.
At this time we are not expanding our partnerships with any other companies; however, if that changes in the future we’ll be happy to get in touch.
We appreciate you bringing this opportunity to our attention.

Not sure if they have a public API beyond just supporting webhooks, but this would be a start: https://www.cognitoforms.com/support/66/data-integration/webhooks
