No colors in Vim #13

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open any file with vim editor
2. ":syntax on"
3. Syntax highlighted with dark text, but not colors.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected colored formatting, but instead it as highlighted with bold.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Webstart.

Please provide any additional information below.
Tried "tput colors" and it returns -1. How can I add color support. Please help.
