A config format library that uses the Table structure, but integrated for data driven development. Some ideas for usage:

Edit the file to update game state immediately
Hashing can be used to detect which parts of the configuration have changed
API for converting from meta data
Game objects can use expressions that gets recalculated when the file changes
Events that notify application when a part of the structure changes
