Brushless motors #3

Hey everybody-

I found out that brushless motors are common in old CD-Rom drives, I disassembled one and came out with a brushless motor, two modifiable brushed motors, and various cogs we may be able to use.

I know buying stuff is cool, but I think we can really benefit from finding what we need in what we have (we also get to take things apart and not wait!).

I'm going to attempt to attach a picture of the parts that I pulled. We don't have to use these exactly, but hopefully it's not hard to find 4 similar, old drives that we can part out. They are low powered motors, but we can push the voltage, and we shouldn't need to lift anything more than 5-10lbs (right?)

Next I'm going to come up with a power rating for these motors. I think the next step is to find compatible propellers, and try to make something lift next time we meet.

Can you get me the KV rating of the motor? Not all brushless moor will work. Also, shaft diameter.

The KV rating is way too low on its own, we'll have to rewind it. It's one more thing to do, but it's not very difficult. I believe the stator adapter will accommodate at 3mm diameter shaft.

ON second thought, for time sake, it might just be easier to buy 4 motors of the specs we want

I'll still play with this one though and we can decide if it's worth it.
