Definitely the site i'm developing needs to put categories in front more than images as Piwigo make it.
So, in this goal, i would like to be able to localize categories.
Coordinates would be properties of the category and the map would display pointers that correspond to categories.
As well, the popup would show a thumbnail of the representative picture of the category and the link would link to the category page.
Is it possible?
As i'm used to do I go working on it... and i'll keep you informed
