Wi-Fi doesn't turn on and Setting crashes #2657

Closed mkzxc closed 2 years ago

mkzxc commented 2 years ago

Build date

PixelExperience_ginkgo-12.1-20220517-1816-OFFICIAL

Expected Behavior

Wi-Fi should turn on and find routers.

Current Behavior

After pressing on the Wi-Fi button, the Setting app crashes and you are forced to close it.

Possible Solution

The first time I installed it everything was going fine but the issue appeared after restarting the phone. After reading the answer to this issue https://github.com/PixelExperience/android-issues/issues/2536 I tried installing again but this time I flashed the firmware and the vendor before flashing the rom; however, nothing changed. The firmware I used is this one: V12.5.4.0.RCXEUXM (https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/willow/stable/V12.5.4.0.RCXEUXM/). The vendor I used is this one: V11.0.11.0.PCXEUXM (https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/willow/stable/V12.5.4.0.RCXEUXM/).

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Settings
  2. Open Network & Internet
  3. Open Internet
  4. Press Wi-Fi Button

/device ginkgo /version twelve_plus

Sorry, I copied the wrong link for the vendor. The right one is this: https://github.com/TryHardDood/mi-vendor-updater/releases/download/willow_eea_global-stable/fw-vendor_willow_miui_WILLOWEEAGlobal_V11.0.11.0.PCXEUXM_c26cf7d238_9.0.zip

i got the same thing. just reboot recovery and erase cache then reboot again. It worked for me

DarkJoker360 commented 2 years ago

Before flashing the rom just flash MIUI 12.5 global via recovery or mi flash and then directly install PE. I dunno why you installed an Android 9 vendor and an Android 11 firmware before flashing PE.

@phoenixofbida I tried but it didn't work, thank you anyway. @DarkJoker360 Ok thanks I resolved the issue. Before closing it can you please explain to me why you say it's an Android 9 vendor and an Android 11 firmware if the versions reported are respectively V.11.0.11.0.PCXEUXM and V12.5.4.0.RCXEUXM? Are the right versions written somewhere else?
