Applications force closing when using SD Card as device storage #2681

Expected Behavior

Instagram should be working normally (when saved on SD card used as internal storage). Modded applications should work normally as they would on other android devices (when saved on SD Card)

Current Behavior

I am trying to use Youtube Vanced, MicroG, Vanced Manager. All force close within a second. Other similar modded apps like Instander and Spotify mods have similar behaviour. Instagram app is force closing similar to above applications. However, this behaviour occurs only when apps are saved on SD Card (which is used as internal storage and not as portable storage).

Possible Solution

Not sure about the solution but this issue can be temporarily be resolved by adding an option to install apps only on internal storage.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Insert an SD Card in the device.
  2. Notification appears asking to set up SD Card.
  3. Select use as "internal storage" (instead of portable storage).
  4. Install any application apk mentioned above or install Instagram using playstore as it would automatically be installed on SD Card.
  5. Open the app
  6. App force closes
