Problem with video and Android Auto #3305

Expected Behavior

videos in messengers are played, android auto works

Current Behavior

After prolonged use, videos on Instagram, Telegram, Reddit and Viber app stop playing. Instead of playing, a round arrow appears when you click on which nothing happens, and the Telegram offers to open the video using an external player. If you agree and choose VLC then the video is played. In the same way, videos through google chrome are not played at this time. they are played more precisely, but not all, perhaps it depends on the format of video. While this error occurs, the phone does not connect to the car via Android Auto, gives an error code 11 with a red screen on the phone, and a black screen on the head unit of the car. The error is resolved by rebooting. after which everything starts working ok. problems with video and android auto disappear. But if you continue to use the phone longer during the day, the error occurs again.

  1. use the phone for a long time
  2. try to play a video in telegram or instagram or connect it to the car via android auto
  3. you get the bug

a curious observation at the moment when the video is not played, the applications in which you try to do this (some of them) report that there are no codecs for playing video. After the reboot, the problem goes away and the same video is played without problems.

another interesting observation. when this bug happens, the camera does not save the captured videos. shooting is going well. there is a countdown of the video time, but after the end of shooting, an icon appears indicating access to the device’s memory for saving, after a time of about half a minute it disappears, but the captured video does not appear in Google photo (gallery). as well as with the rest of the symptoms, it is corrected after a reboot. but then after a short time the problem with the video occurs again

it seems that the error is somehow related to codecs.

some apps report that videos won't play due to high quality. I guess it means resolutionScreenshot_20221002-210805_Pixel Launcher.png
