As far as I know, the xiaomi redmi K40 (alioth) has an ambient light sensor on the front and one on the back. In the case of MIUI, when the front ambient light sensor is blocked and the back of the phone is placed in bright light, MIUI will make the auto brightness automatically adjust to a higher brightness.
Current Behavior
When the front ambient light sensor is blocked and the back of the phone is placed in bright light, the current rom does not automatically adjust to a higher brightness. I suspect this is the ambient light sensor on the back not being used correctly.
Possible Solution
I don't know, but I suspect that the ambient light sensor on the back is not being used correctly.
Steps to Reproduce
blocking the ambient light sensor in front
The back of the phone is under strong light exposure
rom will not automatically adjust to a higher brightness.
