Konsole #46

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open WinFF on Kubuntu or KDE debian based system
2. add files
3. click convert

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Instead of the command line window open and ffmpeg starting,
You see Konsole open and close immediatly

Work around. Install Xterm and change the preferences in winff to
/usr/bin/xterm and -e.

Can you test again by filling in the preferences /usr/bin/konsole instead of
/usr/bin/xterm? I can not reproduce the problem that way. Are you sure your
/etc/x-terminal-emulator points to Konsole? If this is the case, which version
of
Ubuntu and Konsole do you have?

Sorry Matt, didn't see that YOU filed the bug. Anyway, I can not reproduce it.
Kind
of strange.

it has to do with xterm escape sequences. Konsole does not support all of them.
I'll
have to try newer versions to see if they fixed it.

I guess, instead of fixing/patching winff, we should make sure that Konsole is
fixed
also. I would say you should not work around all bugs in all terminals. Could
you
also give me the output of winff, so that I can check if it also bugs my
Konsole?
Which Ubuntu do you have, I work with Jaunty.

Hi Matt,

Did you test this with the she-bang enabled version of winff? I don't see any
problem
with using /usr/bin/konsole and -e in the preferences....
