Add creepy ambient ocean sounds #76

Probably invisible markers that occasionally emit an ambient sound or something

I want the ocean to feel scary, claustrophobic, and dark. Like something that you don't want to enter willingly. Like there's always something watching you in the shadows, waiting for you to be alone. Rusty, damp and haunting.

IDEAS:

wood creaking, like a ship

radio static

water bubbling

alien whale calls

muffled screeches

rocks crashing but muffled

muffled explosion

silent whispering

creepy tapping/rising octave sound cue that abruptly stops

Generator sounds

distant thunder, from piezo crystals or something else

echoing clicking of mandibles

deep sonar pulse (maybe from sweetwater or something)

The Bloop

A constant ambient and quiet rumble outside sweetwater to make it feel claustrophobic (could prolly make that bit part of the InWater system) Would that be a possible thing I could add @Lyroth001, like is there a add sound system or whatever or do we need to make one

not quite sure how the sound system works, but i am working on a smallish refactor of inwater (name is changing to InGas) that should make it reasonably easier to work with so

awesome, i'll work on implementing this when it's done then, take your time of course, no rush. I'm sure i can add a system that draws from InWater for the ambient sound system, and if you ARE InWater it just selects from the water sound effects instead of the station ones

I mostly just need to add the alert and then test it

This. This is the vibe i hope and dream of. We need this. The depths shouldn't be relaxing or chill, it should be terrifying to have to put a suit on and go outside into the inky nothing

Also I love the that vibe for the alien ocean. Maybe check out sunless seas as well for inspo? image
