For everyone: Game details survey #15

Hi there everyone, I decided to write some simple questions about our game for everyone in the group to answer so we can start putting together more specific details. If anyone has questions, lemme know and I can add them on. Thanks!

How many objectives should a level have?

How does the player win a level?

How can the player fail a level?

What type of enemies are there?

What should enemies do to stop the player?

How many objectives should a level have? This can definitely be expanded on, but so far what I have is a note gets initially spawned in the house, which tells the player whether or not the children is naughty/nice. Once that is collected, the players then must travel to another location to plant the gifts.

How does the player win a level? As well as successfully planting the present/coal, I think the player should then have to escape the house by making it to the location where they initially spawned

How can the player fail a level? One way could be a time limit, which can be shown in-game as night turning to morning (easiness of display would depend on game perspective). Another is being spotted by an enemy which could be handled in a few ways. For example, they can detor from their original path and chase after the player or to be harsher, you lose instantly upon being spotted and the level restarts (like in Hotline Miami, you die in one hit and instantly respawn which makes the game very fast paced)

What type of enemies are there? I know in class we've discussed both pets and parents but maybe we can add some environmental obstacles too, like things around the house although my mind is blank at more specific examples rn

What should enemies do to stop the player? I think pets should simple make noise if they spot the player, as a sort of alarm system, whereas humans pursuit
