Are we sure about having the player state save between levels? I personally think its better to leave it the way it is and create all levels with the assumption they are spawned as a rock. If we wanted to then start them as slime we could make use of the force state areas?
It may be better to not keep the state, it's just that make mentioned it , so thought I'd make an issue on it
Personally I like it being reset

make it less jarring, fade in/out etc.
maybe also keep the player's state from the previous level
