What we are doing about lost time, due to snow, floods, and my inability to work 29 hour days

We had discussions today, in the tutorial, about what to do about deadlines, workload, etc, given that we have lost time because of weather, Carl's coursework extension, and so on. The discussion was excellent, so thank you for all your suggestions. What we have decided, which is both reasonable - and representative of the student cohort, there being many students from the Monday class, as well as Tuesday's group - is to reduce the scope of what is expected for the original deadline, rather than moving/extending the deadline, as this would have continued knock on effects. Other options were discussed, and discarded as unworkable or unfair. Therefore, I will rewrite the coursework briefing, as follows: Students will still submit by the original end of term deadline, but will only have to implement one (1) of the two original coding areas: Ankylosaurs (grazing herbivores that flock, flee and, if necessary, fight) OR Velociraptors (predators that herd, hunt and harass their prey). The report size and scope will, therefore, be limited to just reporting on the one topic implemented. As I always like to offer challenges and "value add" options, you may (with no extension) submit material for both Anky and Rapty sections, for the option of being marked out of 150% (each being worth 50%, along with the 50% for the report in the revised assignment marking scheme), which will be capped at 100%, and will contribute up to 50 marks to the total percentage, along with Chris' coursework. However, I would advise you to do one well, rather than needlessly doubling your workload. If (and it should be a big IF) you make excellent progress implementing and documenting (in your report) your initial chosen topic (Predator or Prey), only then should you consider doing some work on the other. To ease my burden and focus my attention of example Anky and Rapty code for you to test your work against, could you each email me directly, or reply to me here with the following: 1) your acceptance and agreement to the revised coursework briefing (as described above) 2) your preference for Predator (Rapty) or Prey (Anky), or (insane) intention to do both, which I won't hold you to BTW.
