The usage of the phone in GTA V provides a realistic platform for digital facilities. This could be implemented in such a way that before the character has recovered their phone, they are unable to use digital aids such as the map or access messages/social media. When the phone has been recovered, it could unlock clues for the character such as pictures of certain areas (similar to Breath Of The Wild as shown in the screenshot below) or messages from their friends telling the character to meet them somewhere.
Elements that should/could be included in the on screen HUD during game play. Ideas such as mini-map usage and viable hand(s) during play should also be included.
