So regarding the art and animation of the game, do you guys think we should follow the art style Lois has uploaded before hand, or maybe do pixelart?

pixel art sounds good !

just give me and Maggie ideas and well fix something up for the game

I think pixelart would be nice! Another thing that came to mind, is that if you two don't mind the plus work we can give the art 2 rounds. For the first time most of the modells, sprites would be less detailed, mostly just placeholders to get working on the other stuff faster, and post 6 weeks give it another go with nicer looking art and just swap things.

we can do that just so i understand, more simple designs first time round then experiment with more detailed art if we have time?

Yes sorry for the slow answer. Although after today's discussion I think you both have a more clear idea of what we might be aiming for. For now just make stuff in top-down 2D style pixelart, and we'll see if want to re-do some stuff later on.
