Added new terms to accommodate annotation of potato flesh:

tuber interfascicular region (PO:0025050): An interfascicular region that is part of a portion of tuber storage parenchyma. Comment: Occurs in tubers. Part_of tuber storage pith.

aerial tuber interfascicular region (PO:0025051): A tuber storage interfascicular region that is part of a portion of aerial tuber storage parenchyma. Part_of aerial tuber storage pith.

subterranean tuber interfascicular region (PO:0025049): A tuber storage interfascicular region that is part of a portion of subterranean tuber storage parenchyma. Part_of subterranean tuber storage pith. Comment: In potatoes, the interfascicular region extends to the subterranean tuber axillary vegetative buds (eyes). Syn: medullary ray, pith ray.

These terms were accepted at the POC conference call on 6-8-2010, with slight modifications to the definitions (since interfascicular region is no longer part of pith):

tuber interfascicular region (PO:0025050): An interfascicular region that is part of a tuber storage parenchyma.

aerial tuber interfascicular region (PO:0025051): A tuber storage interfascicular region that is part of and aerial tuber storage parenchyma.

subterranean tuber interfascicular region (PO:0025049): A tuber storage interfascicular region that is part of a subterranean tuber storage parenchyma. Comment: In potatoes, the interfascicular region extends to the subterranean tuber axillary vegetative buds (eyes).

Changed comment of subterranean tuber interfascicular region from: In potatoes, the interfascicular region extends to the subterranean tuber axillary vegetative buds (eyes).

to: Because subterranean interfascicular regions in potato tubers form before the subterranean tuber perimedullary zone (PO:0025063) expands, in mature potato tubers, the subterranean tuber interfascicular regions persist as rays that extend from the central pith to the eyes or subterranean tuber axillary vegetative buds (PO:0025042).

subterranean tuber interfascicular region (PO:0025049): def'n: A tuber storage interfascicular region that is part of a portion of subterranean tuber storage parenchyma.

We need to add the part_of relation to the subterranean tuber pith (PO:0025053)
