Tropism is a biological process, and is covered by the Gene Ontology. See GO:0009606 at http://amigo.geneontology.org/cgi-bin/amigo/term\_details?term=GO:0009606

Appendage is too general for the PO, because it could apply to many types of plant structures. For example, and appendage could be a leaflet or branch, or it could be a lobe or bump on a leaf or some other structure.

Throat, as defined in the request, is also too general. It could apply to a corolla, a petal, or a leaf. If you need specific terms for each of those parts, we might be able to add them.

Closing this item. If the original submitter has requests for more specific terms, as in my last comment, I am glad to re-open it.
