Can you elaborate more on what exactly the part of the plant is and the species?

I would say probably shoot system for head (includes both leaves and stem). I'm not sure what they mean by core, but if it is only the stem, then use stem. Otherwise, it is also a shoot system.
Also not sure what bottom is. We have a term for stem base, but I think maybe the bottom includes more than that? If is the base of the stem plus the base of the basal leaves, then you could make a new term for it which would be a collective organ part structure. Ramona

I believe core is just the stem,that is nodes and internodes with the latter being very short, basically a plane.
