The definition should always start with the immediate parent term in the ontology -- in this case I presume it would be 'resistance'. BS

Generally the host plant resistance in plant can be defined as follows: Those heritable characteristics possessed by the plant which influence the ultimate degree of damage done by the insect” (Maxwell, F.G., 1972). Lentil stem weevil resistance is defined as "degree of tolerance to stem weevil Sitona crinitus" in the trait dictionary. The definition in the lentil TD is short enough to describe the trait but it can be improved for the purpose of mapping.
