Castlevania 2 - transparency issue or resolution? #311

In game intro menu, if you select "LOW Resolution", you see image1 where the 
menu text and character portrait is hidden by dark grey frame.

"Read every frame" will make it transparent and visible - image2

If you select "HIGH Resolution", the menu & character portrait is visible too 
without using "Read every frame" - image3.

Is it possible to fix for "LOW Resolution"?

If it is not emulated with frame buffer emulation enabled, it can't be fixed.
