GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Hit an enemy on LoZ and LozMM
2. Get hit by an enemy on LoZ and LozMM

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
To see you or the enemy flash red when hit. No flash.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Works on Glide Napalm WX r1.1. Doesn't not work with the newest Glides. Windows
XP. Nvidia Geforce 9500 GT.

Please provide any additional information below.
Re-posted because it has completely disappeared from the board... twice...
without indication of anything.

Nothing disappears with no trace.
You first reported this issue here:
http://code.google.com/p/glidehqplusglitch64/issues/detail?can=1&q=294&colspec=I
D%20Type%20Status%20Priority%20Milestone%20Owner%20Summary&id=294
with title ... Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time Completion Bugs
It was closed as fixed because I fixed that Ocarina of Time Completion Bug.
That's why it's bad to put several issues in one report.
Also, if you can't find your report, search among all issues, not only open
ones.

I would say, that it's kind of video driver issue. On my system it works ok.
Strange, that old version works for you. I'll check, what was changed.

@comment 1: there was another post because I was told to make it a separate
post from that link because it was a different game. That's the one I don't see.

Found out why this happens. It was because the 'fog' option controls it.
Turning it on allows for the flash to happen but at the same time, it causes
Link to go pale when going closer to the Temple of Time. So if the pale problem
can be fixed with fog turned on, that would be great.

"it causes Link to go pale when going closer to the Temple of Time" - Link just
becomes fogged, since the Temple of Time is surrounded by fog. I suppose, it's
normal. If not, please show me a screen shot from N64, how it should be.

This is a vid from a real n64.

Also, make sure that it's only fixed with Link in this area only if you can.
The boss of the spirit temple needs it because when you beat her and she
divides back into two, they glow when they ascend (light blue color). Turning
fog off makes them not glow. I'll upload a savestate shortly so you can check
when you fix it.

Are you sure about it? The image is too clear.

>I'll upload a savestate shortly so you can check when you fix it.
I'm not working on this project anymore.

Clearer images are the result of higher priced capturing software. I can tell
that it is a real n64 because the background is not pixelated and is smoothed
out. In other vids of his, when he gets hit, he flashed red. Currently with all
n64 emulators, you can't flash red and not have the paleness/fog near the
temple of time at the same time. Judging by his youtube logo, youtube pays him
for his videos. So that means that he has the cash to by the higher capturing
software. He records with HD PVR as he states in his youtube bio. That is a
software used to capture things from the television to the pc. It does not seem
so far that he uses emulators. And most if not half of his playlists are games
that can't be emulated yet perfectly like things from wii, gcn, ps3, and ps2.

Moot point, but I'll just point out the obvious in case anyone else missed
it... the B button is red, that video is from the gamecube version.

ok cool. Official version still, though. I have my cube version on wii and it
doesn't do it there. I also had it on n64 before I sold it. It didn't do it
there either. It was the very first thing that stood out to me on the emu.
Hopefully someone will pick this up soon. I'd hate to keep seeing good projects
fade away :)

just plugged in my n64 and while the area surrounding the front of the temple
of time appears fogged, It does not appear on link quite as much as Glide64 and
Jabo's D3D (Hardware) shows.

looks like a limitation of hardware blending in these plugins... sort of like
the fog/shadow issues you come to expect from pcsx2 and dolphin.

Jabo's D3D in Software rendering appears closer to correct, and Ziggy64 does
not seem to suffer from the problem.

Forced Alpha resolves it in hardware with Jabo's, so it may be an issue due to
the lack of Computed Alpha due to Vooodoo5(Glide3x) and Direct3D8 limitations.

Exclude post #7. They arent supposed to glow blue, I got it mixed up. Forced
Alpha does fix it with jabo though.

@danialho: Using Forced Alpha removes the red glow on link and enemies when
they get hit though.
