I think the authentication issue's been dealt with by patch inside SWI-Prolog SSL lib. See Issue #2 and https://github.com/SWI-Prolog/packages-ssl/issues/117

Do you think that it's possible to use JPL and Java authentication instead of writing this directly in Prolog?
