Problems with creating glass #1737

What happened?

I tried to create glass, when it is thrown or in hand I can see through it, but I can't set it

Can confirm this also occurs on 1.16

Also having this issue, 1.18.2.

Agreed, it affects all half-transparent textures but not the fully transparent ones. Making certain types of glass and such impossible to recreate.

This is a limitation of the game, you can't make semi-transparent blocks. You could try by using REAL_WIRE as custom block type but it won't be solid.

REAL_WIRE should be the only block which supports transparency.

REAL_TRANSPARENT name might be a bit misleading. By TRANSPARENT I mean that you can make a block which is not necessarily cubic without creating an xray bug.
