There is 2.6 branch, but no corresponding release. Was version 2.6 released? I guess it was long enough ago that I don't remember any more.

2.6 was released a little more than a year ago.

The release was drafted on GitHub, but it was never published. I've published it now.

@Sunderlandkyl Since a new Slicer stable release is available, maybe it would be a good time to create a corresponding stable Plus version (2.8), too, based on current master version. What do you think?

Sure, seems like a good idea. There seems to be a compile error on Linux, but other than that, it doesn't look like there are any major outstanding issues.

Can we wait a few days? I would like to merge spatialCompounding branch before release. @RMR54 @tomekcz and @jamesobutler are testing it right now.

I made a PR #452. There are two other outstanding PRs. Should they be merged before making a release?
