Since upgrading to v5.2, Finch is unable to identify (in other words, "Scroll" option when attempting to Identify is greyed out).

On EE, it can be solved by adding the glasses to itemspec.2da, like this:

Not sure about old engine.

Oh, interesting! There is no solution in the old engine afaik. It's either Jan's or Finch's glasses, but not two pairs of "glasses of identify".

Mm, perhaps old the old engine it's best to give a choice of either installing the old incompatible glasses, or glasses that do something different, like Detect Invisible or Detect Illusion. On BGT you'd have a problem anyway because misc3p.itm are the Glasses of Identification from the Limited Wish spell. (My guess is that this was originally a Tutu mod.)

I thought it's Jan's glasses? I like the idea of giving her glasses that do something else. Although Identify would be the most interesting feature at the beginning of BG1. What I would think would be a feasible solution: -For Tutu, take Jan's glasses and change the description -for BG:EE/SoD and EET, use custom glasses and your suggestion to add them to itemspec.2da -for BGT, give Jan's glasses a generic description, use Jan's glasses and let Finch take them with her upon transition to BGII AND give alternate glasses of Detect Illusion (or Invisible). I'll take any help with this that I get, I guess tipun wouldn't mind, either.

Nope, misc3p are the Glasses of Identification from the one-time Limited Wish "I wish to see everything as it really is." I'll have to check with Bubb or one of the other engine hackers, but I suspect old BG2 is hard-coded to use only scrl75 (Identify) and misc3p for identification by scroll, hence the original re-purposing of the item in Finch for Tutu.

I'll whip up something nice, I have a few ideas that still allow her to be good at identifying. Since we can't change her glasses so she is locked out of Balduran's Helm and other good helmets forever, they better do something good. :-)
