Fulfills #2 fixes a sound from @keough99's pr Finalize the return messages

The java 7 downgrade was due to my Jenkins server having a dislike of java 8

Thank you for that fix you did can you put the pull request on my fork of ifill please so I can compile it and get it onto my server

I just did some of these changes manually. I don't think using Java 7 on the main branch is such a good idea, and also I updated to 1.12 so the 1.10 update is unnecessary. Unless we need some back compatibility.
