Some images could be changed to fit the game's style better, and others must be replaced to have a clear authorship and license.
The high resolution ones cause the engine to generate a huge number of polygons. Maybe add an option to make all craftitems drop as 2D entities to mitigate this in general--otherwise, use 16x16 as a standard (place high-res images in a src or projects directory and do not distribute with the game so they aren't loaded with other media on connecting to the server).
