My two cents: The Pokemon.com codes seem to make the most sense to me (where we have them, at least). Pokemon.com URLs overwhelmingly match up with what PSC appears to be agreeing on, so it seems logical to keep using them where practical.
For the remaining two... IDK. Overwhelmingly, RM
is used as the abbreviation for Rumble, so maybe RM1
or simply RM
for the code. Futsal hasn't had any official abbreviations whatsoever, but some project (PkmnCards and Cardmarket) are using FUT20
as an abbreviation. This might become confusing in the future, since only 3 of the 5 cards were released in 2020, but it would be nice to use a code that is already used by some projects.
I'm okay with using RM
for Rumble as I don't think any new sets coming out would override it. As for Futsal, that is a tougher one. I do like FUT20 to line it up with the similar McDonalds promotion codes (#1)
The official Play! Pokémon deck list sheet (https://assets.pokemon.com//assets/cms2/pdf/play-pokemon/rules/play-pokemon-deck-list-85x11-rcl.pdf) lists the following abbreviations for these sets:
Dragon Vault: DRV Double Crisis: DCR Generations: GEN Detective Pikachu: DET
Edit: After posting, I realized you're talking about the codes rather than the abbreviations. My mistake.

All good! :) They're good to consider in the code discussion too. For example, since DET
is used as the set abbreviation, would it be too confusing to use it as the code as well, or would it be useful to have them both be the same?
Starting with the Sun & Moon era, special sets began to be referred to across the board using
.5
codes - Shining Legends wasSM3.5
, Dragon Majesty wasSM7.5
, all the way up through now, with Shining Fates asSWSH4.5
and the upcoming October 25th anniversary set asSWSH7.5
. Prior to Sun & Moon, though, it wasn't as cut-and-dry...* Call of Legends wasn't a usual special set - it was released in the cycle of main sets. However, due to the way it is treated, it fits more in special sets in this scenario. * These were released after Sun & Moon, but have not used the
.5
codes in any projects. This is just a sampling of the codes currently used across projects, but covers the main ones used.
Thoughts on what should be the PSC-standardized codes for each of these?
